In this module, I enhanced my analytical and practical skills through the use of various software tools.
I tackled complex mathematical problems using MATLAB, focusing on numerical methods and data
analysis. MATLAB’s robust computing capabilities enabled me to execute algorithms efficiently,
visualize data trends, and interpret results, which deepened my understanding of mathematical
programming. Additionally, I used Excel for data management and basic calculations, leveraging its
functions and pivot tables to analyse and organise data effectively. The software applications have
not only supported my technical learning but also strengthen my problem-solving skills, preparing me
for the real-world engineering and analytical challenges.
Mathematical Programming and Professional Skills:
In this module I used Sypder, an integrated development environment for Python, to advance my
programming and analytical skills. Spyder enabled me to write and test Python scripts for
mathematical programming tasks, offering a user-friendly interface and essential debugging tools.
Its variable explorer and plot visualisations facilitated data analysis, outcome visualisation, and
ensured accuracy in calculations, which played a crucial role in the success of my projects. This
experience not only enhanced my proficiency in Python but also developed my problem-solving and
analytical skills within a collaborative academic environment.
